Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath visited Noida on Thursday for a high-level review meeting. He met with senior officials from the Noida, Greater Noida, and Yamuna Expressway authorities along with local representatives. The main focus of the discussion was the progress of mega projects in the region. The Chief Minister confirmed that the Noida International Airport in Jewar is now ready. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to inaugurate the airport by the end of February 2026.
New Financial Rules for Faster Work
To ensure that development work does not stop, the government has updated the rules for approving project funds. The spending power of departmental ministers has been increased significantly. Earlier, ministers could approve projects up to ₹10 crore, but now this limit has been raised to ₹50 crore. This step is taken to fast-track projects without unnecessary delays.
- Projects between ₹50 crore and ₹150 crore will now need approval from the Finance Minister.
- Any project exceeding ₹150 crore will require direct approval from the Chief Minister.
- If the cost of any project increases by more than 15%, officials must provide a fresh justification and seek re-approval.
- All new government building contracts must now include a mandatory five-year maintenance clause.
