A shocking incident came to light in Noida on Valentine’s Day, February 14, 2026. Two bodies were discovered inside a locked Tata Altroz car parked near Pillar No. 84 on Dadri Road, under the jurisdiction of the Sector 39 police station. Local residents noticed the vehicle and alerted the authorities after hearing gunshots. Upon arrival, the police had to break the car window to retrieve the bodies of a young man and woman.

Identity of the Victims

The deceased have been identified as Sumit, a resident of Trilokpuri in Delhi, and Rekha, who lived in Noida Sector 58. According to police reports, both individuals were in their early 20s and had been missing since February 13. Their families had already filed missing person reports.

Initial investigations reveal that the two had been in a relationship for approximately 15 years. It is reported that Sumit was in the driver’s seat while Rekha was seated next to him when their bodies were found.

Police Investigation and Findings

The police recovered a pistol from Sumit’s hand and found cartridges inside the vehicle. The car was locked from the inside, which points towards a case of murder-suicide. Preliminary findings suggest that Sumit shot Rekha before shooting himself.

A note was also recovered, indicating a dispute regarding marriage. It is alleged that Rekha was set to marry someone else, which led to this tragic step. The police have sent the bodies for post-mortem and forensic teams have collected blood samples and other evidence from the spot.
