Delhi Police has uncovered chilling details regarding the Peeragarhi flyover murders involving 72-year-old Kamruddin, a self-styled ‘godman’. While the recent discovery of three bodies in Delhi shocked the city, investigations now reveal that the accused has a criminal history dating back to 2014. Police officials state that Kamruddin lured victims with promises of magical wealth before poisoning them to steal their cash and valuables.
How the Tantrik Trapped Victims for Money
Kamruddin operated ‘tantric centers’ in Loni and Firozabad where he targeted vulnerable people looking for quick money. His main trick was promising ‘Dhanvarsha’ or a rain of money. In the recent Delhi case, he convinced two property dealers and a woman that he could multiply their wealth. He asked them to bring ₹2 lakh in cash, along with liquor and cold drinks for a special ritual. During the meeting, he fed them laddoos laced with poison, waited for them to die, and then fled with the money. This same method was used in Firozabad in 2025 to kill two men and rob ₹5 lakh.
A History of Crime from Rajasthan to UP
The investigation has revealed that Kamruddin’s first known involvement in a murder was in Dholpur, Rajasthan, in February 2014. A woman was killed by her own husband on Kamruddin’s direct instructions, as he had convinced the family that a sacrifice was needed for wealth. The police have also recovered an old-style ‘brick’ phone from him. He deliberately avoided smartphones and did not save any contacts, choosing to memorize numbers to prevent the police from tracking his location or connections.
