The Delhi Police has successfully solved the mystery behind the three bodies found in an SUV on the Peeragarhi Flyover earlier this month. Authorities have arrested a 72-year-old man named Kamruddin, who operated as a self-styled ‘Baba’. Police investigation revealed that the accused tricked the victims by promising to double their money through occult rituals and fake treatments.
How the Accused Trapped the Victims
According to DCP Outer Delhi Sachin Sharma, Kamruddin used a specific method to cheat people. He sold fake medicines for serious illnesses and claimed he could perform magic to bring sudden wealth. He lured the three victims—Randhir Singh, Shiv Naresh Singh, and Laxmi Devi—with a promise of a ‘Dhanvarsha’ or money shower ritual.
On the day of the incident, the accused gave the victims laddoos mixed with sulphas and sedatives. After consuming the poisoned food and liquor, the victims died inside the vehicle. The accused then stole ₹2 lakh in cash and fled the scene. Police have recovered items related to black magic rituals from his possession.
Criminal History and Police Warning
During the interrogation, it was found that this was not his first crime. Kamruddin confessed to a double murder in Firozabad in 2025 and another murder in Rajasthan in 2014 using similar methods. Investigators found photos and videos on a victim’s phone that suggest he used these rituals to exploit people financially.
DCP Sharma has issued a strong warning to the general public. People are advised not to fall for schemes that promise to double money instantly or cure diseases with unverified medicines. The police emphasized that citizens should report such self-styled healers immediately to avoid becoming victims of fraud or violence.
