Famous ad filmmaker Prahlad Kakkar has shared a fascinating story about Aishwarya Rai Bachchan from the start of her career. He spoke about the screen test for the popular 1993 Pepsi commercial which also starred Aamir Khan. Kakkar mentioned that he was stunned to see how the color of Aishwarya’s eyes seemed to shift and change based on her mood during the test.

The Search for Sanju in 1993

Kakkar explained that casting for the character ‘Sanju’ was a long process that took nearly three months. He wanted a fresh face that could stop the world in just 4 seconds of screen time. At that time, Aishwarya was just a college student studying architecture. The impact of her appearance was instant, and after the ad aired, the filmmaker received over 5,000 phone calls from people asking who the girl ‘Sanju’ was.

Mystery Behind Her Eye Color

During the shoot, the director observed her eyes appearing gray, green, and sometimes blue. He felt this change happened according to her emotions at that moment. Scientifically, Aishwarya’s real eye color is sea-green. Experts state that light-colored eyes often pick up reflections from clothes and surrounding lights, which makes them look different to the viewer.
