In a shocking incident in Uttar Pradesh’s Shahjahanpur, a man killed his wife and attacked her live-in partner with acid on the day of Holi. The incident occurred early Wednesday morning on March 4, 2026, in the Balaji Nagar area of Azizganj. The accused, identified as Manmohan Pandey, reached the house wearing a mask to hide his identity. While the woman died on the spot, both the attacker and the partner are currently undergoing treatment at a local hospital.

How the Incident Unfolded in Balaji Nagar
The crime took place between 6:00 AM and 7:00 AM in a rented house where the deceased was staying. Manmohan Pandey reached the Balaji Nagar Colony and first rang the doorbell of the house. As soon as the victim’s partner, Brajdeep, opened the door, Manmohan threw acid on him. This sudden attack left Brajdeep with severe burns on his face and upper body.
After attacking Brajdeep, the accused entered the house and used a sharp weapon to slit his wife Aarti’s throat. Aarti had been living separately from her husband for the last six months as a divorce case was pending in the court. The police confirmed that the attack was a result of a long-standing personal dispute and the husband’s anger over his wife living with another man.
Current Status and Police Action Taken
During the violent struggle, Brajdeep tried to defend himself and Aarti by hitting Manmohan with bricks and kicks. This resulted in the accused husband getting seriously injured during the scuffle. Currently, both the accused Manmohan and the injured Brajdeep are admitted to the Government Medical College in Shahjahanpur where they are receiving medical care under police surveillance.
