The Shamli police in Uttar Pradesh have solved a complex murder case that was initially reported as a suicide. A woman named Mushkara was murdered in Issopur Khurgan village on the night of February 11. The police investigation revealed that her father-in-law, Abbas, killed her after she refused his sexual advances. The police have arrested the father-in-law and the victim’s husband, Salman, for their involvement in the crime.

How did the accused try to hide the crime?

The accused planned the murder carefully to make it look like a suicide. After killing Mushkara, they locked the room from the inside to fool the neighbors and relatives. They then called welding mechanics named Nazim and Naushad to cut the door open, creating a scene that suggested she had locked herself in. The family tried to bury the body immediately without informing the police. They pressured the relatives to skip the postmortem examination. However, the police insisted on the procedure, and the autopsy report confirmed that she died due to strangulation, not suicide.

What was the motive behind this murder?

Shamli Superintendent of Police N.P. Singh stated that the father-in-law, Abbas, had bad intentions towards the victim. On the night of the incident, he entered her room and tried to force a physical relationship. Mushkara resisted his attempt and tried to push him away. This angered Abbas, and he strangled her to death. Her husband Salman helped his father in destroying the evidence and misleading the police. The police have now registered the case under murder charges and sent both accused to jail.
