SpiceJet has announced the operation of 14 special flights from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to India on Friday, March 6, 2026. These flights aim to assist Indian nationals stranded due to the ongoing conflict in the Middle East and resulting airspace closures. The airline is coordinating with Indian and UAE aviation authorities to ensure these relief operations run smoothly for affected passengers.

What are the Routes and Flight Schedules?
According to the official statement, the airline is operating a total of 14 services today to clear the backlog of passengers. This move comes after nearly 281 international flights were cancelled yesterday by various carriers. The airline is using specific routes to ensure safe passage.
- Fujairah to Mumbai: 9 flights
- Fujairah to Delhi: 4 flights
- Dubai to Pune: 1 flight
These operations are being conducted under special permissions from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) and UAE civil aviation authorities. Passengers are advised to check the official website or contact help desks at Fujairah and Dubai airports for booking and coordination.
How High are the Ticket Prices and Future Plans?
While the focus is on bringing people home, travel has become expensive. Reports indicate that airfares for the Gulf-India sector have gone up by 3 to 4 times the normal rate. This surge is largely due to a hike in insurance premiums for aircraft flying near conflict zones.
Looking ahead, SpiceJet has already scheduled 8 more flights for March 8 to connect Fujairah with Delhi and Mumbai. The Ministry of Civil Aviation is closely monitoring the situation to ensure passenger safety. Additionally, other airlines like IndiGo have extended waivers on cancellation fees for Middle East routes until March 31, 2026, giving some financial relief to travelers.
