A shocking incident took place inside the Neemka Jail in Faridabad on the night between Sunday and Monday. Abdul Rahman, a suspected terrorist, was killed by another prisoner named Arun Chaudhary. The police stated that the two prisoners had been arguing over the Ram Mandir issue for several days. This serious crime happened inside the high-security ward, raising questions about safety measures.
Details of the jail incident
The attack occurred on February 9, 2026, between 1:30 AM and 2:00 AM. According to reports, Arun attacked Abdul with a stone or a sharp piece of tile while he was sleeping. Abdul suffered severe head injuries and died on the spot. Another prisoner named Mohammad Shoaib was present in the same cell and witnessed the entire incident. Investigations revealed that both inmates had been having heated arguments about religious topics and the Ram Mandir for the last 15 days.
Who are the prisoners involved?
- Abdul Rahman: He was a 20-year-old resident of Ayodhya. Police arrested him in March 2025 with two hand grenades. He was accused of planning an attack and conducting a recce of the Ram Mandir. Agencies believed he was in touch with AQIS.
- Arun Chaudhary: He is a 24-year-old gangster from Jammu. He faces more than 8 cases of murder and extortion. Authorities shifted him to Neemka Jail from Kathua in October 2024.

The Faridabad Police have handed over the investigation to the DLF Crime Branch due to the sensitivity of the case. A board of three doctors performed the postmortem under the strict supervision of a Judicial Magistrate. The police have registered a case of murder against Arun Chaudhary at the Sadar Ballabhgarh police station.
