Delhi Police has achieved a major breakthrough by arresting Akash alias Bittu, the main shooter of the notorious Tillu Tajpuriya gang. He was wanted for the daylight murder of 30-year-old Ravi Bhardwaj in Bawana. The arrest was made through a joint operation with the Bihar Police in Begusarai, where the accused had been hiding since the incident on March 19. Two other associates involved in the crime were also apprehended following a police shootout in Rohini.

Arrest of the Main Accused and Police Action

The main shooter, 20-year-old Akash alias Bittu, also known as Khuddi, is a resident of Nangal Thakran in Delhi. After the shooting incident in Bawana, he fled to Bihar to escape the law. The Delhi Police Outer North district and Anti-Narcotics Squad tracked his movements and coordinated with Bihar Police to nab him on March 26, 2026. Officials believe this arrest is a significant step in curbing gang-related violence in the national capital.

Following the lead from Akash, the Crime Branch conducted further raids. On March 27, 2026, two more shooters were apprehended in Rohini after a brief exchange of fire with the police. These individuals were reportedly riding the scooter with Akash during the firing incident in Bawana. The police are now investigating the larger conspiracy and checking for more links to the Tillu Tajpuriya gang.

Victims and Investigation Details

The shooting took place on March 19, which resulted in the death of Ravi Bhardwaj, a resident of Harevelli village. The attack was not limited to him, as several others nearby were caught in the crossfire. The police registered a case under BNS sections 103(1) and 3(5), along with the Arms Act at the Bawana police station. The primary motive behind the killing is suspected to be the long-standing rivalry between the Tillu Tajpuriya and Jitender Gogi gangs.
