When and where are the upcoming summits?
The roadmap for these global meetings is now set. The current gathering in India ends on February 20, 2026. After this, the summit will travel to Europe and then to the UAE.
- 2027: The summit will be held in Geneva, Switzerland, during the first half of the year.
- 2028: The United Arab Emirates will take over as the host nation.
These events follow a tradition started at Bletchley Park in 2023 to discuss how artificial intelligence should be managed globally.
What is the main focus of the UAE summit?
The 2028 summit in the UAE will align with the country’s AI Strategy 2031. The main goal is to ensure that AI technology is used ethically and benefits everyone, not just a few powerful countries. Swiss President Parmelin emphasized that smaller nations must work together so the technological future remains fair for all.
This announcement also highlighted the strong partnership between India, Switzerland, and the UAE. The Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, was present in New Delhi to discuss these future collaborations with Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
